Arlene Velasco first joined the hospitality industry 20 years ago after moving herself and her two young daughters from Puerto Rico. She started off working as a suite attendant and dealt with the struggles of being a single, working parent while also having no transportation – yet she never gave up. Arlene worked her way up to a role in the laundry department, then as an inspector, and now as the housekeeping supervisor. During the pandemic, Arlene was on the cleaning front line and made sure all proper cleaning techniques were in place. She has great motivation and always says that whatever task is in front of her, she will always try her best. She’s worked extremely hard to make a better life for her family and now is married and also has a son.
