As the COVID-19 pandemic led hotels to cut staff and spending, the demand for clean and safe facilities rose dramatically. Given the new standards of cleanliness as a result of the pandemic, housekeeping heroes persevered and dedicated their days to protecting the wellbeing of guests and fellow employees through cleaning and disinfecting despite the difficult circumstances.
The Cintas S.H.I.N.E. (Star Housekeepers In a New Era) Award shines a light on housekeeping professionals who are rising to this unprecedented occasion with grace, grit and integrity. These individuals make hotels feel like a home away from home, and we want to share their stories and make them feel appreciated.
Colleagues, supervisors, family members, hotel guests and others are invited to nominate qualified housekeeping employees who go above and beyond every day. A nominee is eligible only if he/she is employed by a hotel property, works in a housekeeping role and is 18 years or older. A panel of expert judges will review all nominations and select the winner and runners-up.
